Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are staying firmly in the streaming spotlight. Despite months of speculation about the future of their relationship with Netflix, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have renewed their creative partnership with the platform under a new multiyear first-look deal, ensuring fresh content from their Archewell Productions banner for years to come.

From Exclusive to First-Look: A Strategic Shift

The new agreement between Netflix and Archewell Productions marks a shift from the couple’s original 2020 deal, which reportedly guaranteed Netflix exclusive rights to all of their film and TV work for an estimated $100 million.

Under the new first-look arrangement, Netflix will have the right of first refusal on any Archewell project — meaning the streamer can choose to produce it before the couple shops it elsewhere. If Netflix passes, Harry and Meghan can pitch the project to other platforms.

This change mirrors Netflix’s 2024 restructuring of its agreement with Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions, suggesting the streaming giant is moving toward more flexible talent partnerships.

Addressing Speculation Over Their Netflix Future

Rumors swirled in mid-2025 that Harry and Meghan’s Netflix deal would not be renewed after the initial contract expired. While neither Archewell nor Netflix confirmed those reports, some industry watchers pointed to mixed performance among their previous projects.

Their 2022 docuseries “Harry & Meghan” and Meghan’s 2025 lifestyle show With Love, Meghan were strong performers, with the latter becoming Netflix’s most-watched culinary show since its debut, drawing more than 5 million viewers.

However, other titles such as Polo and Live to Lead failed to gain the same traction. The new deal suggests Netflix sees ongoing potential in the Sussexes’ brand — especially in Meghan’s lifestyle-driven projects.

What’s Next: “With Love, Meghan” Season 2 and More

Netflix has confirmed several new projects under the updated deal, starting with:

  • Season 2 of “With Love, Meghan” – Premiering in August 2025, the series will once again feature Meghan cooking, hosting, and working on DIY projects alongside celebrity guests. While Netflix has yet to announce the guest list, season one’s mix of approachable recipes and personal moments resonated strongly with viewers.

  • “With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration” – A December 2025 holiday special expanding on the show’s cozy, festive vibe.

  • As Ever Lifestyle Collaborations – Netflix will integrate Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever into certain programming. The brand debuted its first rosé wines in summer 2025 and plans additional product launches later this year.

Harry’s Philanthropy, Meghan’s Lifestyle Era

Industry observers note that Meghan’s lifestyle ventures are becoming the cornerstone of Archewell’s entertainment content, while Prince Harry focuses on philanthropic and advocacy projects. Harry made few appearances in season one of With Love, Meghan, a decision some experts described as strategically smart, allowing the duchess to define her own creative identity.

What This Means for the Sussex Brand

The renewed deal signals that Netflix still sees commercial and cultural value in working with the Duke and Duchess, even if the structure has shifted. It also cements Meghan’s position as a lifestyle media personality — an evolution that aligns with broader trends in celebrity entrepreneurship.

For Netflix, the arrangement keeps two globally recognized names in its content portfolio without locking the streamer into an all-exclusive, high-cost arrangement. For Archewell, the deal provides both a powerful distribution channel and the flexibility to partner elsewhere.

Harry and Meghan’s relationship with Netflix is evolving rather than ending. With With Love, Meghan season two, a holiday special, and new brand tie-ins on the way — plus scripted and documentary projects in development — the Sussexes remain a fixture in the streaming world.
